Operating system and it's types

Hello students in this blog we read about Operating system and will explain types of Operating system. This question is very important for 6 marks in BCA - I year sem-II so please note down this notes and this notes written in very easy language.

Q. What is Operating system? Explain different types of operating system.

Operating system :

An operating system is a system Software that manage computer hardware,Software resources and provide common services for computer program. An operating system is a Set of instruction or program that manage the computer hardware. An operating system is Intermediat between computer and the hardware.

 An operating system with the allocation of resources and services such as memory, processor,device and information. An operating system currusponding include to program mange there resources such as traffic controller, schedular, memory management, Input output program and file system. 

Following are example of an Operating System :

• Disk operating system (DOS) 
• WINDOW
• UNIX
• LINUX

Types of operating system :

1) Batch 0perating system :

                    

        The operating system farely simple its major tasks was to transfer control automatically from one Job to next.

2) Multiprogramming Operating system :

         Multiprograming operating system is an ability of an operating system that execute more than one program using a single processor machine. More than one program/Task/job are present inside the main memory at a time is called multiprogramming OS.

Example : - 

A user we ms-exel, download apps, traster data From ene point to another point, and Google chrome browser 380 at some time.

Advantages : -

• CPU utilization is high because CPU is never goes to idle state. 
• Memory utilization is efficient. 
• CPU throughput is high and and also support multiple iterative user terminals. 
• It provide less response time. 

3)  Multi-Tasking Operating system : 

Multi tasking operating system is allowing a user to perform more than one computrr task such as the operation of an application program at a time. The OS is able to keep track of where you are in this task and  go from one to other without losing information.

Microsoft window 2000, IBMS O/S 390 and Linux are example of OS that can do multitasking 

Advantages :

• A professional can finish multiple task at the same time. 
• Increase productivity. 
• Everything to be turn in one time. 
• Form of communication. 

Example :

when we are open our  web Browser and open word at a time, we are causing the OS to do multitasking.
